Graphic Designer

Hello there.

Gherri Weekes-Garnette

I am a graphic designer from Hinesville, GA who is interested in all things art and design. My first experience with graphic design was with Graphic communication courses at my high school. It was my first time using Adobe Creative Software or designing anything. I learned how to screen print t-shirts, printed my mom a mug for Mother's Day, and got to try my hand at logo design for the food vendor that would later be in the building. I used a perfect binding machine to make a sketchbook too. And from those couple of classes, I knew that was the path I wanted to take.

Next, I went on to college and majored in graphic design. I had the opportunity to do a variety of different disciplines. In printmaking, I was able to do 4-color process screen printing, create monoprints, do stone lithography, among other things. I learned the basics of photography and using DSLR cameras. Digital Dimensions was a course in which taught 3d modeling software, laser cutting/engraving, and 3d printing. I've had many great teachers along the way, and I've come to realize I love learning new things, being able to make things and work with my hands. Limiting myself to just one thing is not an option for me. I want to continue learning and growing as a creative.

On this site you will see work done as school assignments or derivatives of school assignments and extracurriculars, projects done as gifts or at my leisure, things like greeting cards, and past drawings, jewelry, and other items that I've made.

Morphological Analysis

Poster

Morphological analysis is the process of finding all possible solutions. In this case, the combination of ingredients for a bowl of ramen. A limited number of possible combinations were selected and organized into a poster.

Tatami mats, a traditional Japanese flooring, inspired the design. Tatami mats help to organize space and have often been used as a means of measurement when building.
